Lancaster is well connected by rail on the West Coast Main Line (Avanti West Coast). Direct trains run from London Euston (~2h20mins), Birmingham (~2h) Manchester (~1h), and Glasgow & Edinburgh (~2h).

Lancaster Castle is approximately a 5-minute walk from Lancaster railway station.

Lancaster city centre has a good range of hotels and B&Bs within easy walking distance of the Castle. We recommend booking early as the city can be busy in May.
